Welcome Summer!

"Any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a dad." -- Anne Geddes

Father’s Day is June 19th and the perfect time to honor every dad who shows up for his children. It's not easy being the best father you can be, but it makes a huge difference in a child's life -- now, and every day in the life of all children.

Many attempt to condense fatherhood down to a single image. Maybe it’s a father and son tossing a baseball in the backyard. Maybe it’s a father having a tea party with his daughter.  However, all attempts fall short of truly encompassing the term “fatherhood”.  Fatherhood is not just one moment, but a collection of experiences, both big and small.

Every hug you give, every joke you share, every moment that you listen patiently, every time you take a deep breath and see things from your child's perspective, and every time you show your child how to handle anger responsibly and show up with integrity, you're shaping your child into a person who will make you proud. We celebrate you!

With Father’s Day approaching, it is the perfect time to reach out to your dad to let him know how much he means to you!

Who was the first person you looked up to, both figuratively and literally, as a child?  Before teachers, community leaders, and other role models enter our lives, it’s dad.  And the height difference isn’t the only factor that makes him seem so courageous.

Fathers are there for their children.  There to pick them up when they stumble, there to teach a new skill, and there to provide wisdom.  Although fathers can provide many things for their children, the most important thing a father can provide is his presence.

Dad is the one who says yes when mom says no. The one you watch stands up for others in need.  The one who pushes you out of your comfort zone, even when you may not like it.  You may see your dad as almost superhuman but, he’s the one that taught you to be human.

To all dads, thank you! Your role as a father far outweighs anything else you will accomplish in life.

Fathers, we celebrate you!
